Turning Point

My first commission upon arriving in Brighton was to create this painting for Jule's fireplace. Strangely the turning point which I created out of wooden birds for my exhibition in Banff seems eerily fitting as swifts gather here every evening along the old pier.

ice house

Brazilian artist Paula Senderowicz's ice house in the mountains. Her original design for her artwork was to have a washing line in the forest frozen solid, but the winter wasn't cold enough, so she soon had everyone on the residency helping her move these giant ice bricks to build this little ice tea house.

the sloths

For the exhibition soft serve I created these little sloths to sit in the tree at the end of the world.

The floating world

The build up to my first major gallery commission at the Banff centre, an installation for the Comics Craze exhibition containing a floating world, a paper mache hut and ground cover consisting of autumn leaves and tiny animal skeletons.

Fang

my favourite monster by far, Fang is for people who need more boundaries and should be more careful when they get their teeth stuck in, because his fangs are so big its always a struggle to get them out again.

THE EXIT STRATEGY

My friend and fellow artist Rob Hengeveld and I said goodbye to the wonderful Banff centre we created mini installations around our studios as something for them to remember us by. Graffiti in the form of miniature landscapes. Our friend Jen who stayed at the centre told us that they kept them up there for 3 months.
